Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 13, 2026
1. Introduction
Apprise ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our services.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Email address — provided when you subscribe to our mailing list or request early access.
- Usage data — information about how you interact with our website, including pages visited, time spent, and referral sources. This data is collected through standard analytics tools.
- Device information — browser type, operating system, and screen resolution, collected automatically through standard web technologies.
3. Signing In With Google
You can create and access an Apprise News account by signing in with Google. If you choose to do so, Google shares a limited profile with us and we receive only the following:
- Your name, used to identify your account in the interface.
- Your email address, used as your account identifier and to send service messages you have asked for.
- Your profile picture, shown on your own account screens.
We use this information solely to create your account, sign you in, and operate the features you use. We do not post on your behalf, read your email, access your contacts, files, or calendar, or request any other Google data. We do not sell this information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.
Apprise News's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
You can disconnect Apprise News from your Google account at any time from your Google account permissions page. You can also delete your Apprise News account from within the app, which removes the profile information described above along with your saved stories, follows and other account data.
Signing in with Google is optional. You can instead use an emailed sign-in link or an email address and password, in which case Google receives nothing.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Send you launch notifications and product updates you have opted into.
- Improve our website, content, and user experience.
- Respond to your inquiries and communications.
- Comply with legal obligations.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers — trusted third parties who assist in operating our website and services (e.g., email delivery, analytics), bound by confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, or legal process.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
